This is my first entry for the Weekly Challenge.
It’s a simple papercraft budgie that I assembled after a model of the Internet and than placed near my real budgie.
He seems quite interested in the new paper bird but is at the moment a little shy to approach it. Soon, I hope to see him play with his new paper friend. If he does I will take a quick picture and upload it here 😀
The model can be found here:http://cp.c-ij.com/en/contents/3157/budgerigar/index.html
This was a tough origami to make … not because of the model but of the paper used to make it. TRACING PAPER … never and I say again … NEVER use tracing paper as an origami paper. It’s so rigid and gets so thick at a point that your hands hurt like hell. The good part is that after it’s done the model is “stuck” in the position you left it in. It won’t bend, wrinkle etc. It’s a good paper for easy models, especially flowers (if you get the wax tracing paper).
